The Empiricist, From Locke to Hume

This course introduces the main authors of 17th and 18th-century empiricism, according to which the primary source of knowledge is experience. The course focuses on Locke, Berkeley and Hume, and examines their innovations in epistemology, metaphysics and moral philosophy. PREREQ: 18 university credits. (lec 3) cr 3. Students may not retain credit for both PHIL 2326 and PHIL 2325.
