The Archaeology of Animal Bones
This course examines the animal remains that are commonly found on archaeological sites which provide insights on ancient environmental conditions and past human diet, technology, ritual, and taboos. The course covers methods of identification and interpretation through the analysis of archaeological samples as well as he examination and critique of zooarchaeological studies. PREREQ: ARCL 3066 or ARCL 3095 or FORS 3036 or instructor's permission (lec 2, sem 1, lab 3) cr 3. Students cannot retain credit for ANTR 4035, ANTR 4036 and ARCL 4036.
